The best spaghetti Bolognese ever...

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove chopped
  • 2 capsicums diced
  • 1 large brown onion diced
  • 1 carrot grated
  • 2 tins of diced tomato
  • 1 tin of tomato paste
  • 1 vegetable stock cube
  • 1 teaspoon raw sugar
  • 1 tin strained lentils
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon Italian herbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garlic granules
  • 3 Bay leaves
  • Spaghetti
  • Parmesan cheese (to serve)

Method

  1. Heat oil in a saucepan until hot
  2. Add onion, capsicum and garlic and cook until they soften
  3. Add carrot, tinned tomatoes and tomato paste and cook until simmering
  4. Add in the rest of the ingredients and stir through.
  5. Leave to simmer until thoroughly cooked and flavours have mixed through
  6. Boil water and add spaghetti
  7. Plate up spaghetti and add desired amount of bolognese sauce
  8. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese
  9. Enjoy!

This was the best thing I have eaten in a lonnnng time! Soooo good! If you're not into the vego thing you could use mince instead of lentils, just fry it off when you do the onion and if you're vegan leave out the parma at the end. We use organic tin tomatoes, tomato paste and spaghetti which you can get anywhere but we have found are much cheaper at Aldi.
Hope you enjoy guys!

Eventful Sunday

Good afternoon all!

Soooo today has been a pretty eventful day! let me tell you allllllll about it...
We are renting and our toilet seat has been broken for about uhh 9 months (awesome eh?). Today a man came and fixed it! I could have kissed him! I no longer have to hover over my own toilet! Brilliant!

Then my in-laws turned up = day ruined! Haha I kid, I kid! They floof around checking out our things going, through our stuff asking us questions about our finances whilst I prepare them lunch.. Ahhh the joys of in-laws!

Next I find this:

Have a quick look! I think attachment parenting is great. I don't follow the GUIDELINES to the letter but I give it a go and do my best. I had not heard the term 'attachment parenting' until recently so with my first daughter I wasn't making a concious effort to follow the guidelines but we did co-sleep for a time, I did breastfeed for 8 months, I did respond to cries promptly and I did baby wear. We did most of these things because they just seemed easier and natural for us. This time around we are more aware of what we are doing and at the moment it's working for us.

ANYWAY back to the video... what do you think? They kinda bulldozed him eh? I don't think Sears intends to make women feel guilty! As he says they are 'TOOLS not RULES'. I also love his response  'sex does not only have to occur in the bedroom' hehehe the old hound dog ;-)

that's all for now! We are having Vego spaghetti bolognese for dinner I'm going to wait until I taste it and if its good I'll share the recipe!
